The Current State of Health Insurance

Watch the video below to get the latest 2026 health insurance updates as Kathy Healy sits down with industry expert Bill Neglia of Neglia Insurance Group. Changes for early retirees, the self-employed, or anyone losing employer coverage include:

  • skyrocketing ACA Marketplace premiums
  • disappearing tax credits
  • exits by major carriers like Aetna
  • and shrinking doctor networks.

Bill shares actionable insights on COBRA vs. ACA plans, private insurance, short-term major medical, indemnity plans, and new PPO options for 1099 earners—plus critical open enrollment deadlines you can’t afford to miss.

If you want help navigating rising costs and complex choices in today’s volatile health insurance landscape, this conversation is a must-watch for 2026 planning.

Riddle of the Month

I can be cracked, told, made, and played.

Yet I’m never quite the same twice.

What am I?

Have Unclaimed Property?

Old bank accounts, brokerage accounts, uncashed checks, utility deposits, insurance proceeds, unclaimed refunds, etc. When the party holding assets like these cannot find you and you do not respond for a legally defined dormancy period (typically 1-5 years, depending on the asset), they are required to transfer the asset to the state for safekeeping. It’s called escheatment.

For Georgia residents, it is worth taking a quick minute to visit the state’s unclaimed property website to see if the state holds any of your property. It’s not uncommon to find money tied to a former address or an old account you forgot existed.

Go to the Georgia unclaimed property site, enter your name, and review the results. If you see something that belongs to you, the claim process is straightforward and free. It’s an easy way to clean up financial loose ends and make sure no money has been left behind.

Humor of the Month

I don’t mean to brag, but I put together a puzzle in 1 day

and the box said 2-4 years.

We Are Very Thankful - For You!

As the holiday season begins, it’s the perfect time to pause and appreciate what we have, both in our personal and financial lives.

We are genuinely thankful for the trust our clients place in us. It is a privilege to be invited into the most important parts of someone’s financial life. These conversations touch on family, hard work, hopes for the future, and the kind of legacy each person wants to leave.

We never take that responsibility lightly. Every meeting, every portfolio review, every tough decision, and every small administrative task reminds us that our work exists because clients choose us. They could place their finances with any number of firms. They could manage things themselves. Instead, they give us the opportunity to serve, to guide, and to help bring clarity where the financial world often brings confusion.

So this season, and every season, thank you. We are grateful for your trust, your time, and your continued partnership. It is an honor to serve you.

We're Your Team - Not a Machine

They call it Interactive Voice Response (IVR). It’s the automated customer service phone attendant that greets you with forced enthusiasm, then immediately traps you in a maze of menus. Press 1, then 4, then 2, then listen to a long disclaimer you cannot skip. You try speaking your request. The system tells you it did not understand. You repeat yourself. It still draws a blank. You press zero like your life depends on it, or better yet, yell “representative!”.

This type of experience has led 64% of surveyed customers to prefer that companies NOT use artificial intelligence in customer service.

First, we don’t use IVR. When clients call us, a real person who knows you answers. Second, we will ease your burden. If a third-party custodian needs to be contacted, we will proactively dial the 800 number, work through the phone tree, and wait on hold so you don’t have to. We will coordinate the process, stay on the line, and get the issue resolved.

While financial complexity will always exist, the stress that comes with it does not have to. That is what our clients hire us to remove.

It is health that is real wealth and not pieces of gold and silver.
